I see you’ve landed on this page… not sure why you’d want to read an entire page of me essentially just oversharing, but I welcome you nonetheless
. I more so just wanted to code a really cool about me page, in the style of a wikipedia article, for funsies, and also because I love listing out things and doing surveys and quizzes
.
And I can’t believe that we’ve abandoned the art and joy of form-filling and listing, reducing it to just mere administrative hell for stuff we would rather not have to deal with. Does anyone remember these profile books?! I used to collect so many of these as a kid, and my classmates and I would exchange books and fill them out, analogue social media basically
.
I can’t not mention how this sat alongside the first couple of social media sites and blogging that had everyone filling in about me pages and 100+ question surveys. Myspace, Friendster, Neopets, I had all of these profiles (definitely lied about my age) and never got sick of filling stuff in.
I guess we were all once psychometricians (and hey, those skills were useful, because I’m now pretty good with designing and validating measures in my research
.
Anyway, I’ve worked pretty hard on this page, so hopefully it’ll be a fun reading experience, and maybe inspire you to make you own About Me page
! The design for this page has been graciously adapted from limegreen’s wikitable code, cool stuff.
here's a collection of blinkies, buttons and stamps that speak to my soul
